Blue-Ray Biotech Launches EzMate Ex Automated Liquid Handling Systems with 1,000 µL Pipetting Capability
New modules streamline large-volume dispensing and dilution for low- to mid-throughput laboratories
EzMate Ex Automated Liquid Handling Systems
Blue-Ray Biotech, a life science instrument brand focused on nucleic acid workflow, today announced the EzMate 601 Ex and 601s Ex, the latest additions to its EzMate automated pipetting system family. The new models introduce 1,000 µL automated pipetting modules (APMs), extending the maximum volume per transfer to 1 mL. Applications include PCR/NGS sample preparation, reagent dispensing, sample aliquoting for storage, and microbial culture media dispensing.
“With the Ex models, we wanted to bring more everyday preparation tasks within EzMate’s reach,” said Erica Chen, product manager at Blue-Ray Biotech. “Adding 1,000 µL modules gives teams handling larger-volume dispensing and dilution more options to configure automation around their transfer volumes, sample layouts, and labware.”
EzMate systems have long supported sample preparation across a wide range of laboratories. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they helped testing laboratories in multiple countries streamline sample preparation for qPCR testing. Building on this experience, the Ex models extend the system’s pipetting capacity for transfers involving deep-well plates and large-capacity reagent reservoirs.
Nine interchangeable modules for flexible workflow setup
The EzMate Ex series offers nine interchangeable APMs, with 50 µL, 200 µL, and 1,000 µL capacities each available in 1-, 4-, and 8-channel formats. Supported functions include liquid transfer, multi-dispensing, mixing, and serial dilution. By accommodating both small- and large-volume transfers on one instrument, the system can reduce the need for multiple dedicated instruments and free researchers from repetitive manual pipetting.
At a test volume of 1,000 µL, the EzMate Ex delivers relative accuracy of ±0.5% and precision of ≤0.2% CV.
Two models are available:
- EzMate 601 Ex: For routine automated liquid handling.
- EzMate 601s Ex: Equipped with a built-in UV lamp and HEPA filter to minimize cross-contamination in workflows requiring a cleaner work area.
Designed and manufactured in Taiwan, with custom adapters and software
EzMate is developed and manufactured in Taiwan by Arise Biotech, Blue-Ray Biotech’s parent company.
